I — What we are
A small institute, not a school and not a platform
Falkenberg is four tutors and a director. We take on as many pupils as four people can teach properly, which in a normal term is between thirty and forty. When we are full we say so and give you the date we expect to have room again.
There is no group course, no online classroom, no app to install. A tutor comes to your house at an agreed hour, works with your child for sixty minutes, writes three lines in the session log, and comes back the same time next week.
We do not promise grades. No tutor can promise a grade, because no tutor sits the examination. What we can promise is the same person every week, preparation for every session, and a written account of what happened.

Four ways to work with us
Prices are per pupil and include the tutor's travel within Reinickendorf and Pankow. Everything is invoiced monthly, in arrears.

Home tutoring

Pupils from year 5 to year 13 who are following the lesson but losing ground in one subject. The most common reason families call us.

Abitur mentoring

Pupils in the qualification phase in one Leistungskurs or Grundkurs, who need the whole two-year body of material brought back into one head.

III — Discretion by design
Our tutors are listed by their initials
You can read every tutor's full curriculum vitae before you speak to us: degrees, examinations, years in the classroom, subjects, languages. What you cannot see is a surname or a face.
That is deliberate, and it is not a marketing device. Three of our four tutors hold posts at Berlin schools or universities, where being publicly indexed as a private tutor is at best awkward. And families come to us in the middle of something — a Probejahr that is going badly, a long illness, a change of school. A grid of portraits that can be screenshotted is not a neutral object for them.
After your enquiry is confirmed you receive an access code. It opens the surnames and the portraits. Nothing else about the profile changes: the CV you read today is the CV you get.

IV — The monthly report
One page, at the end of every month
On the last working day of each month every family receives a written report: hours taught, topics covered, what the pupil can now do without help, what is still shaky, and what the next four weeks are for.
It is a record of the work, not a record of the child. We do not report mood, effort, attitude, or anything your child said to the tutor in confidence. The pupil has the same login as you and reads the same page — nothing is written about them that they are not shown.

Start with a conversation
The first meeting lasts about forty-five minutes, takes place at your home, and costs nothing. We look at the last two pieces of written work, talk to your child without you in the room for ten of those minutes, and tell you honestly whether we are the right answer.
